December Mod Plot.


This months mod plot is in the form of a town meeting. During this town meeting characters (and players) will have the chance to define how some things in the Sphere will work going forward. Additionally, it’ll give every character who wishes to a chance to interact with at least one of the NPCs through the form of various means.

1. Characters will have the chance to ask the council questions about the City and how it works and what has happened during their times there. That said some of the characters will be evasive and what not but this will be in the form of questions and answers on a single comment thread in the post. Clarification questions are allowed but the Council (Max) are jerks and will be limiting the overall questions to three per character.
2. There will be mingling one on one after. Think any sort of meeting where coffee and donuts are provided after.
3. They can seek the Council members out in their offices, where they have normal office hours. This will be an ongoing feature as a part of the welcome log.

The council will also be allowing characters to weigh in on somethings around how the city itself will be run. The first of these will involve the possible creation of a currency versus the current form of trade, bartering and secrets. Whether this passes or not, the main staples of the city: living spaces, clothing, food and water will always be freely provided to the inhabitants of the city. Additionally if this passed, there will be a stipend provided for characters who are unable to work due to their age or other mitigating factors.

This new currency system will be decided by a poll on the post that will work on a one player character one vote system. It’ll be an anon poll so as no persons vote will sway another’s. In game this will be done by a secret ballot so feel free to discuss among characters how it works.

The mod reasoning behind this is to give characters an incentive in order to work if they want and the Sphere council’s reasoning is the same but with a focus on enrichment of characters lives. Through work. They never said it was a perfect system. If this were to pass, the council would also be giving characters grants in order to start or grow their own businesses. Doing this will also allow for the more formalized structure in schooling and stuff. (Hurrah for teachers?)

Additionally this will be the start of a larger discussion about possible law enforcement player possibilities. Nothing will be decided during this post but it will be an idea that lives or dies by the characters hands over the next few months.

Also during this the council will be asking for volunteers for people to act as guardians for the children of the sphere that is kid characters so they’re not running amuck. They are quite certain that there are kids who are gonna be resilient to the idea but this is part of a longer term conversation. Consider it a sort of pilot program. This would merely be a formalizing sort of thing of what’s already happening in game and on the discord chat!

There will also be a basket from home appearing on the 25th inside the pod of every character. This basket of home will contain people’s favorite foods and drinks (think pizza from your favorite place, or sushi or whatever. These will taste exactly like how you expect them to. Remember the Sphere is drawing these things from the character’s minds.) Also included will be one small item from home. Think no bigger than a breadbox, but it should be something that has a good, emotional context. We’re talking pictures of families, or heirlooms or that blanket or stuffie that your character misses the most. No living things will be allowed. Please remember that this is a happy thing.
