February Updates, announcements and plotting.
What's going on?!
Welcome to February in The Sphere. This month will be a memory share month with the suggested theme of love, but people can feel free to post whatever they'd like. You MUST warn for triggering things within your memory share. Additionally, the announced changes to AC that were supposed to go into effect in January will be in effect for February.
Activity Check Change beginning in Febuary/.
Previously announced AC changes, listed here:
- All ten AC comments must be in a single thread, or in a single post.
- A player must make AC for each character at least once in three months (save for in times of emergency obviously.) This means that players can no longer use combinations of strikes and hiatuses to not have activity for multiple months.
- Save for in emergencies, hiatuses should not be declared by the midpoint in the month. Things come up obviously, but in general, I would hope by then characters have had some activity.
Memory Share FAQ
What's the timeline of this event?
This is a month long event that should start on the first. I'm not enforcing this, but I think spreading it out could be helpful. After all, it is an event and we won't have a plot log that goes up on the 13th! How should these be written?
People can write their memories however they'd like. I did mine like I did as a style post, and because that's how I've done similar things before Max as an example! (CW for the loss of a child and a partner) Where should these go?
All memory share posts should go in the Network community as they are broadcast through the network from the person whose memory they are. Is my character actually physically in the memory and can they interact with the memory itself?
In a word: no. These memories are things that they are watching through the experience of the person who's memory has already happened. It's like seeing a recording that feels very real. However, there isn't anything that they can personal do within it. These are things that have already happened to the character and are fixed points. So how does my character respond to the memories that were posted.
They would respond to them as if they were a message. So for example someone might say "you're broadcasting." or "I'm so sorry that happened!" Or "what the fuck dude?!" or "wow you were an adorable kid and an asshole even then huh?" The fun comes in response to what characters learn about each other and how that opens up new or existing CR. Do I have to do one of these, and if so does it have to be on a theme?
Nope! These are entirely optional and open to any character who you want to have one. They can be on whatever you want them to be on! Themes may come in at a later date, but for now go nuts! Are there any things that shouldn't specifically be done?
I'd say things with rape and sexual assault really aren't appropriate here, but if you think there might be triggers involved, stick it under a cut and warn for them.
Nope! Once they're on there, they're there. However, you can choose if your character interacts with people around them or not. But remember that the reason that you're doing them is for CR and stuff so that may be something to think about!
Yep.Three points Ten points per comment. The actual post and the comments will also count for AC.

Can these posts be erased from the network?

Responding to these counts for bonus AC, right?
Yep.
