Important Update! Please read.
Okay. So here's the thing, this plot got way too intense way too quickly, so I'm dialing it (and the megaplot) back a lot. Don't worry, this isn't like a game closing notice or anything. It's just outlining the end of the plot and the next few months. So here's how the kidnapping/missing plot is going to be resolved in numbered steps.
1. The main culprit is the moss that people have found at a good chunk of the scenes. The moss is something that has seeped in from the ocean bed and it infected the Sphere itself. Annie's been infected with it for most of the time that she's been alive, due to the circumstances surrounding her creation. (She is an android who was created based around the DNA of Max's daughter by someone who was well meaning but doesn't understand humanity. It's why Max hates her so much.)
2. The kidnapped people have been fighting against it without realizing it, and that's why there's the keys and clues and things. Max, Annie and Laurie definitely would not hurt people if they were in their right minds and the moss wasn't trying to control them for an unknown reason.
3. The Sphere itself is sending out the messages to get people to it, that's what the nightmares are. It's trying to get help for itself and the people who are missing.
4. When the rescue party arrives, Annie has a moment of clarity, telling them that they need to burn the source of the moss, the room under the Sphere that smells like a garden. Once the moss is burned, the Sphere itself is fixed.
5. The Sphere reaches out in it's own way saying that its original purpose was corrupted by the moss, but it's trying to get people home. It itself is unsure of the nature of what it was initially doing.
6. People still come in because it's an automatic system they're working on fixing. There's no timeline and people are sent home spontaneously just like before.
7.Memories and nightmares still happen, however memories are offered on a theme so April's is like GUYS DON'T BE HORRIBLE, HAVE GOOD MEMORIES.
8.The June nightmare is silly, which is just the adults getting turned into kids.
This is a time for characters to focus on rebuilding, and events in April will be community sort of ones. The idea here is for the characters to be able to develop some feelings of safety before the rug is pulled out from back under them again. No one here signed on for constant trauma, and I know that's not something I want to do. I freely admit that I screwed up in making this too big with too many moving pieces and I apologize for that. The mega plot isn't done, it's just resting in the background waiting and regrouping.
So plot out what you want to do here, if you want to do the log or whatever! I'll happily answer questions about things and everything else.

Questions?

RE: Plot resolution
Have been taken and affected by the moss, since his early return, Aaron has been having increasingly vivid nightmares, and he would certainly offer to follow the clues in them to help find the moss. IDK if I've got the mental energy for a full-on log with that much plot-stuff going on in it, but he was there, giving them directions to find the stuff.
Dorian:
Has been proving his usefulness as an archivist by keeping thorough records of all the data that has been gathered and organizing it into a collective. He's not a detective, forensics is beyond him (though he's definitely going to be reading into it after all *this*), but he can damn well organize things. Once a location is found, and it's made known how the moss is to be dealt with, this fire mage is all about helping set it all on fire.
Jagger:
Has been there with the rest of them, trying to piece together the meaning of the different clues they've collected at various crime scenes. He's psychic, which gives him the ability to touch things and get an understanding of the circumstances regarding them most recently, like if someone passed by a vending machine recently or if someone is still alive, etc. He's not a fighter, though, and would leave the actual pursuit and rescue to others.
I'm really sorry for falling off the face with this plot, guys! It's been a lot of fun, and I really want to do things with all of you! Light-hearted in the days going forward, at least for a bit :)
If you have any questions or want to hash out any details re: the above, just let me know!
Plot Resolution/Aftermath
I'm unsure what I want to do but if anyone wants to run into Angel I can set something up! She'll feel bad for being unhelpful so maybe cute cheer up stuff. :D or magic training because she'll want to try and get better with things after all this. She cares about you guys and she wants to help.
That's kind of what I am thinking for things.

Plot resolution/Aftermath for the NPCs
Annie.: Having realized what she's done, Annie has turned herself off for the time being and is sealed in a separate area from where the moss was. This will be the last time that folks have seen/heard from her.
Max: For the first few days after Annie disconnects herself, Max is quiet and out of contact. Despite how much he resented her, there is a part of him that feels like he's lost his daughter again. When he comes out of seclusion, he's going to act like it never happened.
Because that's how things work, Max.He will however be sending Richard scotch along with a note that says "see, I told you you would." Richard knows what it's about. As time goes forward, he's going to announce council elections and community building exercises. I'll put up posts for those when he does it.
Laurie. Has gone through and made sure that the moss is out of everyone, thanks to a scanner that's been updated by the Sphere itself. She's just kinda hanging out with her dead girlfriend for a while.
John. Will be quiet for a while and hanging with her living girlfriend, but now will be out in play being as people know she's dead and have responded well too it.

He was kidnapped, so there's going to be some heavy shoving of any feelings from that deep down into the recesses. Pumpkin and I discussed it, and Seregil and Alec are pretty much going to be glued to one another's sides. He's also asking Angel if she wants to come to stay with them for a while.
Other than that he's going to be pretending like it's business as usual.
Richard -
Richard has been all the frick over the place. He's been doing a lot of coordination and stuff, so he's going to continue on that. Richard's also going to be doing some taking care of Bev so long as she wants it (and keeping her in the loop of what is happening). He's willing to punch people for Alex's sake, but aside from that, he's not a fighter, so he'll leave that to the others. He will want to be there when they get people out though because of Alex.
After everything, he's going to be on Alex watch and check on Max, but otherwise, it's going to be business as usual.
For now, because of health issues, things are going to have to be handwaved. But, I'm all for backdating once I'm better.
