Hello! ~~I like comic books more than anyone should and have a problem.~~ I am Meghann and this is Betsy Braddock from Marvel 616. She's from the really great Uncanny X-Force run by Rick Remender that I highly recommend if you're into comics even if you don't know much about Marvel! Pls read Uncanny X-Force it has an amazing look at nature vs nurture and has some great art.

ANYWAY for those unfamiliar she has a really convoluted backstory but she's one of the X-Men's psionics with dual telepathy and telekinesis. Like most Marvel telepaths she's got Questionable Morals and just kinda uses her telepathy. I will ALWAYS contact people if a thread is heading that way. There is a permissions thing in her journal if you're super against things like that. She's also prone to scanning areas just to tell how many people around for general recon purposes. That really just means she knows that a person is there but nothing specific about them. That's mentioned in her permissions as well, so feel free to let me know if you'd rather not play with that. Or the reverse if you're super into the idea of playing with that.

YAY MORE! She sounds cool. I know I've asked Heather some about Psylocke so I'm excited to learn more. I wish I had time to read to be honest. She's welcome to use her scanning area thing on any of my three: wanda, angel and enis. Tho Wanda might feel it since their powers are similar? I'm not sure hwo that would work.

She's super cool and so was Remender's Uncanny X-force run. Except for the plot holes that never got resolved because he got offered Marvel's flagship at the time.

She might notice a presence! Betsy's powers canonly manifest as a butterfly to other people for some reason so she might pick up on that imagery if Betsy's scanning.

I would love to! Though side note: she's not overly fond of 616 Wanda since she helped to decimate the mutant race and make all of their lives miserable. She won't hold it against this Wanda though, but she might be like oh bloody hell why you haha

lol that'd be an interesting conversation. well in our world you went nuts and said no more mutants and then only 10% of the mutant population was left. Which is actually part of why X-Force exists. awkward

Thanks! Speedster's and their fast brains. Always a headache. I'm pretty sure she's at least passingly familiar with Magneto's grandkids and all that mess but I'm not fully sure if they've ever had specific interactions.

Wanda's boys don't seem to have many x-men interactions, so awareness is definitely likely ~~tommy will happily claim the family but doesn't really know them well~~ but yeah, they probably haven't met much.

Speedster brains are stupid and i hope her all the aspirin needed.

It's unfortunate they didn't try to integrate them more with...anything.Then again they're probably safer not with the X-Men, they have enough of their own Family Drama

Not enough speedsters, but Tommy doesn't mind helping with the lesson. Because if he noticed someone in his mind, or that someone might be there, he'd just let himself slip up to higher relativistic speeds and just deliberately be impossible.

And yeah, it seems even less likely to get Tommy and Billy playing with the X-Men with Wanda and Pietro's retcon of 'not Magneto's kids'. Which is like... Uh... stupid.

But come on, his gramps and aunt are X-Men-ish. And Tommy's got theories about their family and their chillness levels based on costume color. Let him share them with someone who will get the joke.

Hilariously I think that was actually Remender who began that in Uncanny Avengers. It's unfortunate how much got kinda screwed over by the Fox vs Marvel copyright disasters. Dedicating entire storylines to "you can't have them in YOUR movies but we can now HA" was so just ugh

They're close enough to X-Men. Sometimes his gramps is even a teacher at the Institute because he's the best ever candidate for teaching!! Share all your jokes with her Tommy. Especially costume related jokes. Since her costume was a joke for the 15+ years.

Yeah, it really was. But Tommy's costume has an arrow pointed at his junk, so he gets it. ~~but doesn't change it~~

It will be nice for Tommy to have someone around who understands HIS world references.

And Tommy was friends with a former x-men member. Well, a new New Mutant. So there's that. He knows some of what ya'll do.

All that says is he likes the arrow where it is. That says a lot about him.

They can talk about how much more normal the MCU is than 616. Look at them fighting babies first universe ending crazy threat.

Oh yeah, David right? He was on Utopia at the same time that Betsy was. When Scott had his jetpack.

Normal? Counter point, MCU makes Tony Stark his great-grandfather. As well as Bruce Banner. And come on, Jarvis back home makes the BEST milkshakes, and isn't sorta something his father is an echo of. It's weird.

But yeah, their first crazy threat. And they don't even have mutants. Which Tommy thinks means they have mutants but in hiding.

Marvel family trees. The canon where you need spreadsheets to keep up. And then someone comes in and goes actually it was never Magnteo it was Xorn all along!!! And retcons everything you thought you knew about your family.

David was the best and it was amazing because he wasn't precisely wrong in his whole "they're just using us guys"

Listen, I don't buy that retcon now, and expect ti will eventually be retconed because it'll happen sooner or later.

Well, most of what can be said for David is he was often right about things. He WAS smart. Is. *pets David* I want him to come back more.

Everything gets re-retconed eventually. It's the viscous retcon cycle.

There are a lot of characters that should be used so much more than they are, especially from the New Mutants era.

His recent memory share here was the day he got his powers and oh boy it's been interesting to have people here react like 'wtf why should that matter'. And he could look at Betsy and just raise an eyebrow and gesture and know she gets it because she'll know plenty of people who have been through just as bad.

It's either retconed or just completely ignored and writers pretend it never happened without ever addressing it.

Oh no Tommy =( She'd probably even find it annoying that people reacted like "wtf why should that matter' they don't understand what we face! #mutant issues
