Nightmare: The Sin Eater

It’s been a long time since there’s been a nightmare in the Sphere, but all of that’s about to change. This month, the nightmare is a creature that’s known as the Sin Eater. The Sin Eater knows what you’ve done. It always knows. All the little things that you keep boxed up inside of your head, it wants to make come out. It wants you to spill it over the network so that everyone sees that part of you. It wants to feed on the misery that causes you. The longer the person is in an affected dome, the stronger the compulsion becomes. This is to give the character time to get out without confessing things. Remember no nightmare is ever in effect in every dome all the time. This is your way for a secondary out. No player should feel compelled to do this for their characters.

Due to the nature of this particular nightmare, it will be in effect all month.

How the Nightmare works.

This isn’t going to be a log in the normal sense, as this is a network heavy month. No, instead of confronting it in person, people are going to feel an indescribable and irresistible need to press on the golden disc behind their ears and to tell the network one horrible thing they’ve done. If the player wishes for them to confess more than one thing, it must be at a different time than the first one, as soon as you’ve said it, the nightmare feeling is gone.

This feeling does not work in person or in private messages. Only the network elevates it.

This sin doesn’t have to be something that is necessarily wrong. Instead it’s something that the character feels is wrong. It can be an action from the past, an emotion, etc. Players are given a pretty wide range of things to go with her, but if you’ve got any questions ask. That said, all confessions containing triggering subjects must be placed under a cut on the network.
