December plotting, AC announcement and announcement for AC going forward.
December Nightmare: The Elf on the Shelf.
Well, it’s Christmas time. That’s fine right? But it’s sort of been Christmas for a while now in the Sphere city. But as the time shifts over to December, a little friend suddenly appears for everyone. A little friend who looks adorable and is an artifact of the late 2010s: The Elf on the Shelf. The Elf on the Shelf is built upon the tradition that Santa is always watching. Which is kind of a terrifying prospect involved in making kids used to the surveillance state. That’s the nightmare: the surveillance state and the Elf on the Shelf are real.
Throughout the month, each character’s Elf can be as nightmarish as you want it to be, as long as it only affects your character. (Obviously you warn for any warnings.) But the Elves on the Shelf move independently, and they have minds of their own and they definitely have plans if you are naughty or if you are nice. Nice people (as determined by you and how your character acts) will receive a present from home on the 25th. (Within reason guys.) Naughty people will lose something important to them. (What is is entirely up to you. You want someone to lose a memory or a sense for a few days, go for it.) Players do not have to engage in this nightmare if they don’t wish to. Their elf can just be there.
December AC announcement.
December AC will be on a check in base, due to the holidays.
Activity Check Change beginning in January.
Since the beginning of the Sphere RP, two years ago now, the AC has remained the same: ten comments spread over no more than two posts. For much of the time in game, I have allowed this to slide and have accepted it over three comments. Beginning with January AC, running February first-seventh, the activity requirements will change to the following: 1. All ten AC comments must be in a single thread, or in a single post. 2. A player must make AC for each character at least once in three months (save for in times of emergency obviously.) This means that players can no longer use combinations of strikes and hiatuses to not have activity for multiple months. 3. Save for in emergencies, hiatuses should not be declared by the midpoint in the month. Things come up obviously, but in general, I would hope by then characters have had some activity.
The reasons for this change are multiple. 1.Players are in a game, they should be wanting to be in a game. 2. It makes it more difficult for people to make AC if you don't have tags and 3. Ten tags isn't an unreasonable amount to expect. This is not intending to call out any particular player or number of players. Instead, it's a trend that I've noticed over the last year. Please do not feel singled out!
Nightmare Questions.
Re: Nightmare Questions.
I may have a few characters who would 100% kill the elf on the shelf. On that vein, what if you lock it up. And if it will just show up again, what if you lock it in your locker?Re: Nightmare Questions.
The elves won’t burn no matter what you do to them. Period. Think like the domes themselves.
If you lock an elf up, it just reappears somewhere else. There is nothing that can hold them for more than eight hours.
The elves cannot be destroyed.

Yes. They are all Elves on the Shelves, as they are tied to the whole Santa/presents things.

Yeah a normal puppy would be fine.

Sansa's getting a normal puppy!

No named swords. Just generalized ones. Anything special like that from canon would require the use of ac points.
