Missing in Action; Lost and Found.

After the month of nightmares where everyone thinks they are alone, and there are problems with the network, on the last day of February the network goes offline for three hours. Or so it seems what’s actually happened is that every person within the Sphere was knocked out for those three hours. Warning, it's getting gory up in here.

When people wake up and start moving around they’re going to find a grisly discovery: six people from the Sphere are missing but they’re not coming back from the dead which you know is a thing here. Instead in the location where they were last seen, people will find blood and the communication devices ripped from their heads with enough brain matter to assume that this is very very bad.

For those with powers or some kind of locating abilities, they are still within the city of the Sphere but no one will find them. At least at first.

The people will be missing for a week, and for those who investigate there will be a number of paths for clues they can go on. Tech people can try and access the network, Magic people can try that way and people who investigate the old fashioned way can do that.

How the characters are returned and when will be as a result of the PC investigations so get involved!

The Six Missing:

Max Tinder, NPC council member and runner of the black market. He will go missing from the black market and his communication device will be found there. Volunteers for finding his crime scene are welcome.
Laurie Tearling, NPC council member and head of the hospital dome. She will go missing from her office in the medical dome and her communication device will be found there by NPC John, whose post will be the kick off of this.
Annie Cruz, NPC council member and head of the agricultural dome. She will go missing from the agricultural dome. Volunteers for finding her crime scene are welcome.
Aaron, customplates (the Walking Dead) will have his crime scene be found by Eric Raleigh amorea_mortuus_sum (The Walking Dead) in The work dome, by the blacksmith shop.
Alex Reagan 11calls (The Black Tapes Podcast) will have her crime scene discovered by Dr. Richard Strand nobasisinfactin her office at the news service in the merchant dome.
Rhys 10milliondollars (Fallout: Tales from the Borderlands) will have his crime scene discovered by Rhus assizesin one of the rec domes.

Things open for investigating:

What these people all have in common. (Especially the PCs.)
The crime scenes.
The communication devices themselves (this will be everyone's first chance to find out about the tech.)
The people’s private quarters, (providing their living partners are okay with that.
Private access files (if your character has tech expertise). This is a mostly NPC option, left up to the other kidnapped character's players.)
Possible witnesses.
Possible other forensic exams done to the blood and brain matter and scenes themselves.

As the investigation goes on and people get close to things, I’ll make sure that people are given clues that their characters would discover. I’m trying to keep this as open ended as possible, so come at me with questions.

The rescue: All of the clues will lead to the location where the people will be found. While there aren’t any people defending them, there are traps laid, traps that would be good to have an assortment of people involved on. There will be ones that require, physical strength, mental strength and intelligence.

Will those sensitive to spirits be able to notice anything that isn't science or technology based? Like if Angel goes to one of the sites, I assume that the soul is gone. She doesn't actually know that people come back to life here but I didn't know if there would be a trail of any kind in a magical sense since traditionally violent crimes leaves a violent image magically speaking. (like in most canons)

Let me know if you need more information about the question since I realize that Angel is an OC and it might be vague. I wasn't going to have her find anyone but be curious enough to go looking around on her own. She's spent a great deal of time trying to track people (at least one person) down but she uses magical means only.

Would Jag's ability to get glimpses from objects get a read at all from the neural devices themselves?

Can you be a little more specific? Like from the people themselves or their removal or something else?

Like anything, really. Um, if he were to touch the neural implant, would he be able to feel intent at all of removal, or the feelings of the person attacked?

Yes, unless they were one of the people attacked when they were already passed out. If you give me a specific one I can give ya all the specifics for it.

I'll have to double-check with her, but I'm pretty sure Eric is going to ask for Jag's help in regards to Aaron.

All tucked below a single comment to keep some of the gore level down. Player characters involved feel free to add more to it if I'm missing something specific, but these are some of the important plot details added to stuff.

Max’s crime scene office: From the extra blood evidence, and the way the blood is positioned, it’s clear that whoever attacked Max did it from behind while he was sitting at his desk. There’s a nearly empty bottle of scotch on the floor, but it appears not to have spilled much. There’s some sort of vegetative matter on the floor behind his desk and also on the door leading out of the office.

Laurie’s office crime scene: Laurie’s office is trashed. There are things thrown everywhere around and there’s a cigar butt directly outside of the door. From the way the room looks, it’s pretty clear she put up a fight of some sort.

Annie’s crime scene: there’s blood on one of the plots of herbs, and it’s clear that Annie was leaning over them when she was attacked. However, her communication device is deliberately left in the dirt between two herb plots, as if someone wanted to make sure that it wasn’t missed. There’s also a cigar butt.

Aaron’s crime scene: Aaron was taken by surprise as well, it seems, and there’s a large blood pool around him as if he was already laying down before the communicator was taken. There’s a vegetative patch where his hand would have been.

Alex’s crime scene: It’s clear that whoever hurt Alex wasn’t someone that she suspected, there’s two cups of coffee amid the blood, and her office isn’t disturbed other than the blood splatter and the communication device left directly on top of the papers on her desk. Among the blood there’s the scent of jasmine in the air.

Just for the record, Richard will not be alright with people rifling through Alex's personal things without him present.

Rhys’ crime scene: Rhys appears to have been on his way to training in the rec dome. There’s evidence here as well that Rhys was already on the ground when he was attacked as well. A medium length black hair is found on the communication device itself.
