April Updates/Mod notes/CR meme

Welcome to April! April is a memory sharing month! However, do to the trauma of the past two months, I'd like people to focus on happy or at least last tragic memories. Let's try and keep this month light so that we can get into a sense of normalcy before the bottom drops out, yeah? Memories can be posted throughout the month, and are the monthly event so spread them out. We've got a good memory guide for the mechanic here! This time however I will not be starting it off with Max.

And now onto come game upkeep stuff. Okay, so with April, I'm going to be instituting some minor changes in the game. They aren't very big, and most are things I should have spelled out more clearly from the beginning but here we go!

• Hiatuses: Given the nature of the AC here (ten comments a month), Hiatuses shouldn't be taken after the third week of the month unless it's an emergency. I definitely realize that things happen (ask me about things happening heh) but hiatuses shouldn't be retroactive.
  
• Domes with double occupancies The pod that both players respawn in basically is a queen-size padded bed sunk into the floor. However, do to the fact that strangers are sharing those domes, extra beds have been delivered for people's comfort, it's only right!
  
• Animals/pets as AC bonuses: a lot of people have been asking for them, and they will be slowly added to the game over the next two months or so! Indeed the entire ac point system will be getting an overhaul during the month!
  
  

February/March CR and Assumed CR meme

Alright so here is a CR meme, and assumed CR meme. There will be posts for all four NPCs here so that you have important info later on. Also if you want to have assumed some stuff with them, that would be great. This is a chance to have everyone having an easier basis of getting CR after the nightmare of last month.

We do need to have him and Angel meet. I am planning to hit up his event post when I have the time but I think that they'll be fun friends. He'll also excite her and show her wonderful things and they can both be like kids in a candy store lol.

I also imagine that she'll ping his natural desire to protect other races since he's probably never met someone exactly like her. She is also immortal and all angely with her magicy-ness.

Her application and history is located here for those interested in the deep dive. Angel is cute, stubborn, pure of heart and hopeful. She's also a pacifist with way too much power, almost no magical training and can randomly be effected by the connection with her twin sister. I haven't really dipped into this but I'd like too, if only to force her to talk about Maria more. Right now I think that only Jagger knows a fair amount about her.

● What kind of things are you looking to do with this character? A little bit of everything?

I'd like her to open up to people and face some of her more traumatic oddities. She has dealt with a lot of horrible things happening in her life by not really dealing with it. She hasn't spent a lot of time around humans since she caused most of the people she knew to get killed so that will begin to weigh on her the closer she gets to others. I'd like her to actually face her insecurities instead of just claiming that she accepts them... because she does not.

I'd also like her to practice her magic more or have a teacher.

She can teach people music or magic or demon/angel history because those are the things she knows best.

● Do you have any specific character plans that you want people to know? I would like Angel to get a job and I'm thinking she might start making specialized clothes? That way everyone can have designs that remind them of their homes. She can sketch things out and sew... she knows how to sew by hand so I'm thinking she'll learn how to use a sewing machine for this.
● Are you looking for shipping/relationship stuff and if so what? I do want a ship but Angel is a slow burn in every sense of the word. I'd like things to develop naturally and just see how it goes. Someone will have to explain this stuff to her but Angel does want to feel love and she's not sure she knows what that feels like. I guess I should also mention that she doesn't care what people look like and will fall in love with whoever she falls in love with.
● What kind of CR would your character want to have? All kinds! Any evil people are welcome to manipulate her or use her. She is hard to have negative CR with but I look forward to people trying. Otherwise she'll just be adorable... cuz that's what she does.

So I'm sort of going to be thinking of memories as I go but I'm going to focus on the happy memories with the human's who Angel's lost. Such as the family she lived with for a year or her two thief friends; one of which is a young boy who's dead. Also memories of her home in Heaven which will be super pretty and explain more about why Angel seems so innocent.

Hux is normally very controlled (or tries to be) and certainly appears stiff, his mannerisms and way of speaking are very formal and precise.

Soooooo Ivar had a run-in or two or seven with the Star Wars cast in his last game. Never with Hux, but he found Kylo Ren insufferable, Rey the object of a complicated crush, Finn someone to terrorize because of said crush, and Leia a really nice mom figure. ● Character age: 19 or 20ish? Canon updates + time spent in previous games makes it a little tricky.

● Occupation: Teenage warlord and king

● Info: Psychotic teenage Viking king who is very bad at being king and is much better when he's planning raids or battles. Most notable features are the fact he can't walk and his eyes, which are very intensely ice-blue with faint blue sclera, both effects of his brittle bone disease. He is very ruthless and likes to keep people at arm's length since he assumes everyone will end up leaving him or dying eventually. He's actually a little more friendly now then he used to be, but he's still prickly and eternally angry, with a HUGE chip on his shoulder over the fact he was born with a disability in a society that prizes able-bodied warriors, making people pity him or see him as less than nothing.

● What kind of things are you looking to do with this character? Well, his current occupation seems to be either trolling people to piss them off as much as possible or being a little less prickly as he gets to know people who interest him.
● Do you have any specific character plans that you want people to know? Maybe something where he can acquire the DNA of someone and then impersonate them for shits, giggles, and profit?
● Are you looking for shipping/relationship stuff and if so what? IDK man, after Riverview, which was complicated all the time, and with the arrival of an alternate version of an ex-girlfriend who doesn't remember him, his love life is a clusterfuck.
● What kind of CR would your character want to have? People who pay attention to him and that promise never to leave. He's very needy under the snark. Also enemies he can plot the death of.
● What kind of CR do YOU want your character to have? Good and bad, people he gets close to but ultimately sabotages the relationship because he doesn't think he deserves nice things, crushes he can be awkward and creepy around, and found family is always my JAM.
● What kind of assumed CR are you looking for? If anyone wants to just skip over the initial "Oh hey, who are you/where are you from/oh wow you're a Viking," bit, I'm good. I've played that out a little too much.
● If a character has interacted with another character and it's assumed, what would you want the other character to know about them? What would they have noticed? Aside from the eyes mentioned above, he's usually either in a wheelchair or in high-tech leg braces that Tony Stark made for him in his last game. He's very sarcastic and snarky, which comes up a lot in conversations. Also really strong. If he grabs your arm, you're going to need some strength yourself to get away from him. He can morph into animals that he's acquired (including people!) and his most common form tends to be a husky, as seen in his icons.

● Occupation: Local Sad Trash Boy
● Housing situation: He's living alone in 304.
● Info: Jack is a test tube baby from a different city under the ocean; he's feeling a lot of deja vu here. He was genetically engineered to survive an apocalyptic landscape so he could kill his biological father, but it turned out his good intentions were too strong for his creator to control and he ended up freeing himself and his genetically altered sisters to go back to Kansas. And now he's stuck here again. Jack doesn't speak much, but he's a sweet boy who's doing his absolute best. Basically a puppy in 6'2 human form.

● What kind of things are you looking to do with this character? Jack needs some more friends! I also really want negative CR with him. Please pick on him.
● Do you have any specific character plans that you want people to know? I don't really have a plan yet, but he wants to get involved in pretty much everything he sees so that's not a big concern. I am planning to be very cruel with the memory month, since Jack has very few happy memories and the ones he has are painfully dear to him...
● Are you looking for shipping/relationship stuff and if so what? Jack currently has a huge crush on Angel, so I'm not really looking for more ships on top of that. But I am also a sucker for romantic turmoil so if anyone wants to flirt with him anyway, they are free to do so.
● What kind of CR would your character want to have? Jack wants a hundred friends and also to be left alone. Mostly he wants to adopt someone, to fill the hole in his heart where his daughters go. A mom figure wouldn't hurt either.
● What kind of CR do YOU want your character to have? ALL. I'm not kidding I really want my boy to get in a fight. Bring me the antagonistic characters.
● What kind of assumed CR are you looking for? Some people may have seen him around during the whole kidnapping plot, basically tearing the domes apart in search of clues. Hopefully they didn't get too close because he startles easily and reacts with violence. He also still eats out of the trash constantly, so people may have noticed that.
● If a character has interacted with another character and it's assumed, what would you want the other character to know about them? What would they have noticed? Jack is about 6'2 and has the default expression of a confused toddler. If they have a keen ear for accents, he comes from Kansas but sometimes mispronounces words in a manner that is not unlike a Russian accent. His skin is extremely soft, like a baby's. He wears a stained chunky knit sweater that smells AWFUL, and contains most of his worldly possessions. He's actually pretty lanky under it. And my icons are inconsistent about his appearance but I play him as having brown hair, a brown left eye and a bright blue right eye. He has tattoos shaped like chains on his wrists, and his left arm is riddled with needle marks.

Seregil

● Character age: 58
● Canon: The Nightrunner series
● Occupation: theif (freeloader) party planner?

● Info: Seregil is a very friendly but also tight lipped person. He's easy to get along with but incredibly hard to get to know unless he decides to let you in. He's a packrat (actually they refer to him as a magpie in the series) and collects all kinds of things. His current obsessive collection is pillows and as many books as he can find on varied topics. He's also pretty ignorant to modern day things and will want to know everything you can tell him about them. He's very amiable and apt to listen to anything someone feels they need to vent, but it's rare that he would ever do that to anyone.

● What kind of things are you looking to do with this character? I want Seregil to get to know more people, maybe actually figure out a job or something.

● Do you have any specific character plans that you want people to know? I've also been unofficially having him try to get bakshi (a gambling game with stones that the writer never actually explains) to be a thing in the Sphere.

I'm planning a character update for him at some point, but I have to finish my re-read and decide what point yet.

● Are you looking for shipping/relationship stuff and if so what? He's too in love with Alec to go after anyone else

● What kind of CR would your character want to have? He would love to get to know others especially if they'll prove useful to him later on. He's also one for learning other's secrets and holding onto them until they can be of use to him.

● What kind of CR do YOU want your character to have? I would love him to meddle in things more. He's a meddlesome person by nature, and I think it would be fun for him to get in and poke around.

● What kind of assumed CR are you looking for? No idea man

● If a character has interacted with another character and it's assumed, what would you want the other character to know about them? What would they have noticed? It's pretty good to assume that anyone who's seen him around Alec is aware of how stupidly in love with Alec he is (even if he doesn't say anything about it). It's also ok to assume he's tried to teach your character the games from his world (especially bakshi). If you're someone he knows well then you can assume that he's made your character a set of gaming stones in from some gems (always a matched set) It's also fine to assume that he is very protective of both Alec and Angel.

No, really. He's generally blunt and abrasive toward people, but if you get on the short list of people he cares about he's one of the grumpiest teddy bears you could meet. He's also always wearing a suit and is stupidly quiet and sarcastic.

● What kind of things are you looking to do with this character? Not sure at the moment. I'd like him to get out of his element a bit more though, which is hard because he's stubborn.

● Do you have any specific character plans that you want people to know? Not really

● Are you looking for shipping/relationship stuff and if so what? Nope. He's firm with his mistress.

● What kind of CR would your character want to have? Richard wants to have as little contact with people as he can (except Max, Bev and ... well, ok, he'll take Aaron)

He's teaching in the school, so if your character is going to lectures you can assume that. If your character knows him it's also fine to assume he's been out with them for tea or lunch or something. Dorian can assume he's asked him over for scotch and cards if you want.

I'm ok with them noticing anything strongly observable. Richard's a pretty private person, so offering out info is not his jam

Also, if you were around at the height of the moss event your character may have noticed him wearing no coat, his sleeves rolled up and the peekings of a tattoo around his left arm. From what was observable it would just look like slight circles peeking out with some lines connected to them. (If you were close enough to see through the sleeve of his shirt they would have seen part of an old tattoo that is a sacred geometry symbol for protection that encircles his upper left arm.)
